Mountain Top Cares Coalition is starting our bi-monthly training sessions for Narcan use. Despite efforts being made, the number of opioid overdoses are still increasing in NY state. The new format of our meeting will offer a shortened, more concise training. Please note the new day and time.
All attendees will be mailed a Narcan kit.
If you have received training previously, please note that the Department of Health suggests Narcan recipients renew their training every two years.
Also if you have received a Narcan kit from a previous training, please check the expiration date.
Mountain Top Cares Coalition is offering a one-hour, virtual training Thursday,
April 13, 2023 at 7:00 PM.
All participants will be given a kit containing the life-saving drug, naloxone (Narcan®).
To register for this training click on the button above.
Naloxone (Narcan) is a
medication designed to rapidly reverse an opioid overdose. It is an opioid
antagonist, meaning that it binds to receptors in the brain and can
block the effects of opioids. It can quickly restore normal
respiration to a person whose breathing has slowed or stopped due to overdosing
with an opioid such as heroin or prescription medications.
